What is an artist? The dictionary defines Artist as:
Artist (ar'tist) n. 1.a) One who practices an art in which conception and execution are governed by imagination, style and taste. b) a person skilled in one of the fine arts c.) a craftsman that executes his art with individual style.
I paint for the joy of painting. Subject matter resonates with me for it's symbolism, place in history, or its connection to the world around me, or simply for its' sheer beauty. Painting becomes an experience of discovery, harmony and connection. There is a life to the objects I paint whether they be fruit, floral, mankind or animal. They exist in their own unique world making a contribution however large or big. I tried to capture to the beauty and energy of their existance through my paintings or drawings.
