; Abstract Expressionism is a form of art in which artists express themselves purely through the use of form and color. ;It is a form of non-representational, or non-objective, art, which means that concrete objects do not have to be represented. ;The;movement can be broadly divided into two groups: Action Painting,;typified by artists such as Pollock, de Kooning, Franz Kline, and;Philip Guston, put the focus on the physical action involved in;painting; Color Field Painting, practiced by Mark Rothko and Kenneth;Noland, among others, was primarily concerned with exploring the effect;of pure color on a canvas. ; Our pieces combine both aspects of the Abstract Expressionism;movement and are created on a sculpted-gesso under layer. We then use;multiple layers of oil glazes, opaques, metallics and Jacquard;Pearl-Ex. The combined effect creates texture that traps and refracts;light to make the paintings glimmer as the ambient light changes;throughout the day. We hope you enjoy the trip! |
